Sample Cake

Just a sample of what I have been doing. Just did this at home. I haven't been doing the decorating at work. Just the base and the border on the bottom. Just a little practice piece. It's only 3 1/2" x 4".

Second Day at the Bakery

Today I was scheduled for 12 but was asked to come in at 10. So far I have iced five cakes and put the border around the base of it so Fiona can do the decorating. On 30 min lunch break now. Don't get off until 6. My hand is a little sore from icing and from working at ACE the other day, but not too bad.

After going back I did at least another five cakes. Some single layer, some double layer, some single layer with a tier, some double layer with a tier. Basically, I did a lot of icing lol.

First Day at the Bakery

First day of work yesterday went really well. I helped make butter almond cookies, cake balls, and thumbprint cookies. I also folded boxes and put address labels on things. Took a few orders for cookies and such.

Baby shower!

I filled my first cake order today. :D Amanda's step-sister is also pregnant so her step-mother was throwing a baby shower for both of them and wanted two bellies...one pink and one blue. The pink is a white cake and the blue is a chocolate cake.

New Job!

Well...it didn't take long for me to get a new job. I walked into the local bakery and put in an application and resume and was told to come back the next day to ice a foam cake and show what I know. Fiona first showed me her method then had me copy it. She was pleased with what I know and told me I can start next Thursday. I can't wait. :)

Take this job and shove it, I ain't workin' here no more...

So I no longer work at Schlotzsky's... YAY! When I walked out that door on Monday I'd never felt more free. It was a great feeling to finally know that part of my life is over and done with. I was there for two years and two months. At least I have management experience from it. Everyone has been telling me that I needed to leave, that I was better than that place.

Baby Shower Cakes

Today was Amanda's shower. I made a baby belly cake and a new idea...a baby bottle. I am happy with both and so was everyone that came.
